The Job
We are seeking a Nurse Manager to join our team in the Support Services Department. The Nurse Manager will lead, innovate, and expand the home support program at Fox Hill Village to empower residents to safely age in place and thrive within the independent living community.
Reporting to the Director of Health Services, the Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing the Support Services’ daily operations and coordinating the delivery of high-quality personal care and nursing services to residents. The Nurse Manager will provide clinical leadership, oversight, direction, and supervision to all staff within the Support Services department.
The Nurse Manager will also contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and Best Practices, and serve as a liaison between Support Services clinical operations and other health care entities within Fox Hill Village in addition to external partners.
This is an onsite role based in Westwood, MA.
Duties
Leadership and Team Management:
- Supervise and support nursing staff including Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and other healthcare professionals
- Oversee staff schedules, ensuring appropriate coverage for all shifts and adequate continuity of resident care
- Implement an orientation and ongoing training program to ensure competency of all RNs, LPNs, and CNAs (new and existing)
- Provide ongoing coaching and feedback, mentorship, performance evaluations, and facilitate professional development opportunities for team members within the Support Services team
- Create and implement structured opportunities for staff engagement, professional growth, and fostering a collaborative work environment
Clinical Operations:
- Oversee the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for residents throughout the different levels of care
- Ensure that all clinical activities comply with healthcare regulations and organizational policies and procedures
- Develop and optimize systems and workflows for the team to follow, ensuring consistency and efficiency across all operations
- Serve as an on-call manager for the Support Services team
- Conduct regular internal audits of clinical documentation and resident records in ALIS (electronic health record) to maintain accuracy and high standards of care
Quality Assurance and Improvement:
- Lead and participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing resident outcomes, service delivery, and operational efficiency/effectiveness
- Assess trends and evaluate resident care outcomes to identify areas for improvement. Implement corrective actions as necessary
- Ensure that the clinical team understands and adheres to OSHA safety regulations, EOEA regulations, Best Practices, and evidenced-based practices, as appropriate within the context of the independent senior living community
Resident Care and Advocacy:
- Serve as a point of contact for residents and their families, addressing concerns in a timely and empathetic manner
- Participate in family meetings for residents on Support Services or prospective residents as necessary. Conduct resident home visits as appropriate
- Assist with Wellness Evaluations for prospective residents in the independent living community
- Provide education and support to residents and families regarding care plans, any changes and available services
- Collaborate with other health care providers both internally and externally to ensure comprehensive and continuous care for residents
Administrative Duties:
- Assist in the development and management of the Support Services program budget
- Maintain up-to-date records of staff credentials, certifications, and training
- Participate in the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new clinical staff
Communication and Collaboration:
- Serve as a liaison between clinical staff, administration, and other departments within Fox Hill Village
- Facilitate and participate in regular team meetings to discuss resident care, program goals, staff concerns, and seamless delivery of care
- Address and mitigate any staff or resident concerns
Job Requirements
- Must possess flexibility in work schedule, including working additional and /or coverage of day and/or evening nursing shifts, and provide on-call coverage
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer support skills
- Knowledge and previous experience with patient privacy regulations (e.g. HIPAA)
- Promote a positive, professional and team-oriented work environment.
- Detail-orientated with the ability to prioritize competing demands on time.
- Attend and participate in in-service educational classes and continuing education
Education and/or Experience Requirements
- Must have a current RN license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required with strong nursing leadership experience. Master’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Must be Board Certified in Gerontological Nursing or eligible to apply for certification.
- Must understand Assisted Living regulations and recommendations from the Executive Office of Elder Affairs.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with seniors, home health, and/or long-term care
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required and willingness to become a BLS instructor
- Exceptional computer skills, with proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Must be knowledgeable of nursing practices, regulations and guidelines governing nursing functions in Assisted Living.

Responsible for the oversight and supervision of all staff working within the Support Services program, which includes:
- Support Services Office Manager
- Support Services Supervisor
- Registered Nurses
- Licensed Practical Nurses
- Certified Nursing Assistants
Physical Requirements
- Must move intermittently throughout the workday inside and outside the facility.
- Ability to walk long distances throughout the facility.
- Ability to perform repetitive motion such as bending, pushing/pulling, reaching, walking/standing, and climbing stairs.
- Occasional lift assist of residents from the floor weighing up to 150 lbs. with assistance.
- Occasional lifting and carrying of equipment and supplies weighing 30 lbs. or less.
- Walking or standing 50%, sitting 50%.
