We are unique in that our monthly fees are inclusive of services and amenities, so you won’t be surprised by multiple tacked-on charges. And, while residents of Fox Hill Village always have priority access to Birch Grove and White Oak Cottages, we do accept direct admissions on a space-available basis.
Understanding and comparing the value of care
Fox Hill’s pricing structure for both assisted living and memory care is designed to provide predictability and peace of mind. While some communities charge a “base rate” that only covers room and board — and then charge a great deal more for actual assistance services — our monthly fee includes all services and amenities commonly needed by those who require assisted living or memory care. In addition, we provide more personalized, intensive care that typically equates to other communities’ highest tiered levels.

Options for financing long-term care
Long-Term Care Insurance
These policies generally cover a portion of the cost of both nursing home and assisted living services. The amount and duration of the benefit vary. If you have purchased a long-term care insurance policy, check to see if it will cover any of the monthly fees paid to an assisted living residence. Contact your provider for clarification and any potential benefits.
Whole Life and Universal Life Insurance Policies
If you have these forms of life insurance, there are groups that will pay you an actuarially determined amount of the death benefit while you are still alive. For some, the ability to access a portion of the insurance benefit provides necessary cash to pay for assisted living or memory care. This option is relatively new, but it is gaining recognition. Contact your provider for clarification and any potential benefits.
Tax Deductions
The cost of assisted living or memory care can be reduced if you are able to deduct the fees as a medical expense. To claim this deduction, you must file an itemized return, and the cost of the fees plus other medical expenses incurred must meet IRS thresholds for medical expense deductions. Consult your attorney or accountant to determine if you qualify for this deduction.
Veteran Aid and Assistance
This program may pay a monthly benefit to veterans and their surviving spouses if they need regular assistance with activities of daily living and meet the income and net worth requirements of the program. For more information, go to VeteranAid.org.
